PROPOSED BIODIVERSITY RESERVE
The Quaqtaq-Kangirsuk proposed biodiversity reserve (Réserve de biodiversité projetée de Quaqtaq-Kangirsuk) protects many archaeological sites of significant cultural interest. One site contains the remains of two longhouses, one of which is among the largest in Nunavik. This reserve is also within the range of the Leaf River migratory caribou herd.
