PROPOSED BIODIVERSITY RESERVE

2,889.5 km² | Designated in 2009

The Rivière-Delay proposed biodiversity reserve (Réserve de biodiversité projetée de la Rivière-Delay) protects a corridor in which the Delay River flows, along with Lac Chanikamisu, where the river widens. This reserve is also within the range of the Leaf River migratory caribou herd.

To protect an area representative of the physiographic unit characteristic of the natural province of the Nord-du-Québec central plateau, and more specifically the Lac Châtauguay Plateau and Lac D’Iberville Hills natural regions.
